I hung my 55" Sony HDTV using Sony's SU- WH500 wall-hanging bracket which leaves only 1/2 inch of clearance between the TV and wall and with the PowerBridge I could plug the TV into the recessed socket with room to spare.
The TV looks great and I am able to run the power cord from the lower PowerBridge outlet directly into my surge protector/voltage regulator (which is already plugged into an existing wall outlet of course)

Bought this on advice from other users and looking at a video on You Tube. Very happy with the purchase. Product arrived on time and in perfect condition. Instructions were good. All that said the end result is fantastic. My PowerBridge holds the following cables: 2 HDMI, 2-5 head component, and a stereo digital toslink. Those component with the 5 connectors each are pretty big but I got it all to fit, no problem. All in all very happy with this.

Since I did not have a power outlet near where I was hanging my TV, this was the perfect solution for a clean installation!
The outlets are very easy to install and look very clean and professional when done. I was able to run the power cord to my power strip with all the other AV components off a nearby outlet.
Instructions were very comprehensive and easy to understand. Package has everything you need (great to have the Romex wiring included). All you need is a drywall saw, screwdriver, and level.

Saw the PowerBridge on a blogger's website when he installed it in his home. Researched it and decided it was the answer to my problem when I hung my TV on the wall. I have a little electrical background knowledge, but this is very easy to install and you don't need to be an electrician to do it. Very easy and final product looks like I paid a professional to do it (no exposed wiring running down the wall).

I was having my new TV serviced, I had mounted it to the wall, but had not yet run the cables through the wall. The technician that was servicing my TV asked me if I knew how to do it myself. I told him I'd be able to handle it and he said: "You know you shouldn't just run the TV's power cable through the wall". I said I knew you *technically* weren't supposed to do that but, honestly, would anything bad actually happen? He agreed that it was doubtful anything bad would happen. However, he said: "Suppose your house burns down, for whatever reason. If the fire inspector figures out that you had electrical wiring in your walls that wasn't up to code, he's going to note it. If that happens, good luck getting money from your insurance company, even if the wiring wasn't the cause of the fire." I hadn't thought of that at all. I told him that the problem with installing a proper outlet behind the TV was that I wanted to run my TV through some sort of surge protector or universal power supply (UPS). That's when he told me to buy this PowerBridge solution. I'm very grateful that he did!
The beauty of using this product is that you can hide all of the wires and do so in a manner that is up to code, yet still run your expensive equipment through a surge protector or UPS. Also, you don't need to tap into any pre-existing electrical wiring, so it's relatively simple and safe. Installation is exactly what you'd expect. Once you have everything installed, it looks beautiful and professional. As far as I'm concerned, this is *the* way to deal with wires for a wall-mounted television.

Used the power bridge as a part of the installation of my 52 in. Samsung HDTV. I must say using this product is the right way to do it. Installation requires a little weekend warrior skills. I would recommend using a utility knife to cut your drywall instead of a drywall saw, it's a much cleaner installation. Great product!

I wanted a nice, clean look to my wall-mounted LED TV, but did not want to pay the $350 that an electrcian wanted to charge. I found this product on YouTube saw the video and decided to give it a shot. I am glad I did!!!! The wall 'jacks' were easy to install, cables were a little complicated to pull through the wall (Exterior wall with insulation) but the end result is fantastic. Looks like I paid for a custom install.

I think this works better than having an electrician wire up a new outlet behind the TV since this allows you to run the electrical into a surge protector before going to your TV. I understand that there are some surge protected electrical outlets you can buy, but this gives you the option to use any surge protector, battery backup or power conditioner, plus the outlet is recessed which gives much needed space for the TV cord to plug in when the TV is sitting inches from the wall. This product simply works by plugging an external cord from an existing outlet or your surge protector (if you choose), then to the male outlet which will be near the floor below your TV. Power runs up the Romex supplied cord you fish through the wall into the recessed female outlet behind your TV.

All cables are concealed behind the wall which allows you to have the TV as close to the wall as possible. MY 60" plasma hangs on an OMNI mount low profile wall bracket. TV is 1.5 off of the wall and from the side you don't see any of the cables or connections because they are hidden by the TV using the Powerbridge.

My husband mounted our TV last year and he ran the extension cord inside the wall. I called my insurance company, Farmers, and my agent told me if it caused any fire, the insurance would not cover damages because it does not meet code for California for electrical wiring if you use an extension cord. I ordered the slim-line kit 2 months ago and my husband finally installed last week, he said it was really easy and wished I had found it last year when he installed the TV. They offered a power outlet installation, to get power to the TV and I purchased a surge protector from the installer and have my TV connected to it. I had no idea you can't just run the TV power cord down the wall, but they said it was not legal for them to do it. Turned out to be the best purchase I made with having my TV installed, we soon after had a lightening storm here and thankfully the TV was plugged into that surge protector, it saved the TV from blowing up.

***** Joe - San Diego, CA 10/23/07 I received the Powerbridge product a few weeks ago and have been very happy with it. It works great! It allows us to hook up our TV to a Belkin AP20800-10 power conditioner (which sits in our media console below the mounted TV), while safely concealing all wiring for a nice, clean look. The Powerbridge literally provided a bridge of power from one part of the wall to another with no limitation of faceplate placement. If you can turn a screwdriver, you'll have very little problem with the installation. I'm certainly no electrician and don't consider myself much of a handyman and I found the process very easy and straightforward.

Jason Coon - Duvall, WA 10/09/07 I recieved my Powerbridge this weekend and had it installed in less than 20 minutes, and I would consider myself a novice at this sort of thing. It was very easy, looks great, and works perfectly. What I love most about this is that my wall mounted HDTV can use the same UPS that I have the rest of my A/V components plugged into. Truely a fabulous product.
***** Bob - Canada 10/04/07 I just wanted to say what a great product the Powerbridge is. It took me about 1/2 an hour to install. I need another for my sister who the "pro" installer ran the power cord inside her wall.

I had a few people on a forum say I could buy the parts and make my own version, well I looked into that and NO way would I go through all the hassle! ***** Ron G. - La Jolla, CA 9/22/07 I finally bought one. I commented last month before I bought a my TV. I ended up buying my TV at Costco instead of Best Buy. The company that installed my 50" Panasonic, installed the Powerbridge and they were pretty impressed. They didn't want to at first, but after they looked at it decided it was ok since they didn't have to touch any electricity. John and Eric were really nice guys, I think they will call you to order some, give them a good deal. Do I get a commission? just kidding. I saved a bunch of money not having to hire an electrcian and I looked at the Panamax version that was $250.00 more. thanks.
